America’s Thrift Stores in Alabaster Reopens

Posted on May 26, 2014

After being closed several weeks for repairs and remodeling necessitated by heavy rains, America’s Thrift Store in Alabaster has re-opened.

Marilyn Martin, Manager of the Alabaster America’s Thrift Store, said “We are excited about the remodeling that has been completed and the additional changes that will be made in the coming weeks, including new dressing rooms. With all the new items and changes, it truly is ‘A New Store Every Day!’ We’ve had hundreds of calls from our customers wanting to know when we would be re-opening and that day is here. We are OPEN, so come see us!”

She added, “We’re going to have a Grand Re-Opening the week of June 16th with prizes, fun and excitement. We will be celebrating our reopening all week, so make plans to come shop and have fun.”

America’s Thrift Stores sells gently-used clothing, shoes, household and selected new items. Every item sold benefits family-centered Christian ministries including King’s Home (formerly The King’s Ranch and Hannah Homes). For over 40 years, King’s Home has been home and refuge to thousands of youth, women and children who have needed love, healing and an opportunity to start over in life. King’s Home provides that place where residents find help and hope from abuse, neglect, abandonment, homelessness and other difficult circumstances through an achievement-based program.

America’s Thrift Stores, founded in 1984, now operates 18 stores in five states including Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee and Louisiana with over 1,000 employees. Each store adds 6,000 to 10,000 new items to the sales floor every day, making America’s Thrift Stores truly “A New Store Every Day!” The Alabaster store is located at 218 2nd Street SW.
