Alabama Sales Tax Holiday

On February 20 – 21, all of our Alabama locations will participate in the Severe Weather Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday.  This holiday was established to allow Alabama citizens the ability to purchase certain items without the charge of state and local sales tax.  Items include:

  • Batteries (AAA, AA, C, D, 6-volt, 9-volt)
  • Cell phone battery or charger
  • Portable self-powered radio, two-way radio, weather band radio or NOAA radio
  • Portable self-powered light source, including battery-powered flashlights, lanterns, or emergency glow sticks
  • Tarpaulin
  • Plastic Sheeting
  • Plastic drop cloths
  • Other flexible, waterproof sheeting
  • Ground anchor system, such as bungee cords or rope, or tie-down kit
  • Duct tape
  • Plywood, window film or other materials specifically designed to protect window coverings
  • Non-electric food storage cooler or water storage container
  • Non-electric can opener
  • Ice Packs
  • Self contained first aid kit
  • Smoke or carbon monoxide container
  • Gas or diesel fuel tank or container
  • Power cords
