  • Why is America’s Thrift Stores selling online?
    • Our customers have been asking for years for an online shopping option, and since the pandemic we have tried to accommodate both online and in-store customers by posting select merchandise online.By expanding into online and growing our sales, it gives us more resources to be able to expand our donation network, open new stores, and in turn, contribute more to our charity partners.
    • Additionally, we want to remain competitive in the evolving thrift market. Today there are over 140 Goodwill and 40 Salvation Army Chapters already selling online along with Thred Up, Poshmark and others. We don’t want to lose our customers to these competitors.
  • What kind of items are offered on ShopATS.com?
    • We sell secondhand jewelry, electronics, designer purses, shoes, apparel, and even collectibles on our online shop.
  • Where do I shop?
    • You can shop our online thrift selection on our eBay shop, ShopATS.com.
  • What is the pricing model like?
    • Most of the items sold on ShopATS.com are bid listings. Items go up for auction at a low starting price, so our online customers determine what is a fair value for the item.
  • How often are new items added to the online shop?
    • Daily! Just like in our stores, we want to provide fresh inventory on the regular. So, check the shop often!
  • Does that mean all the good stuff is online now?
    • No way! Only 1% of items donated ends up in our online business. We are only sending a fraction of items to our online store, so that our stores can continue to offer treasures for our most loyal store customers. Stores are still our priority while online helps us supplement our community impact and environmental sustainability.
  • How long has America’s Thrift Stores been selling online?
    • We entered the online space in August of 2021; We have been testing the market for a few years!
  • If I donate items and they’re sold online, does it still benefit charities in my community?
    • YES. Every donation, whether it ends up in store or online, supports our local charity partners. Our contributions to our charity partners are based on donation pounds, not sales. For example, for every pound of donations received in Alabama, and contribution is made to our local partner, Make-A-Wish Alabama.
    • Our goal in everything we do is to be good stewards of donations so that we can help our charity partners as much as possible.  
  • Why would I shop in store if I can do it online?
    • 99% of our inventory stays in-store, so if you don’t visit our stores, you will be missing out on tons of treasures. We have made sure to structure our online store to keep treasures in stores. Think of ATS Online like a continuation of the treasure hunt!
  • Will I be able to use my current rewards from the rewards program for online purchases?
    • Unfortunately, not right now. We currently don’t have a way to link our rewards program with the online store.
  • What is the return policy for online purchases?
