Safety is our top priority!

May 20th, 2021 UPDATE:

The safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and donors have been our priority at America’s Thrift Stores since the beginning of the pandemic. We have been a leader in our communities, adopting protocols to mitigate the spread of COVID and provide a safe environment, while continuing to provide support for our charity partners, including Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Make-A-Wish Alabama. We have closely followed CDC recommendations throughout the pandemic as part of our commitment to safety. Based on the most recent update to the guidance provided by the CDC, America’s Thrift Stores will no longer require masks for fully vaccinated employees and customers, except where required by local and state ordinance. We continue to strongly recommend that all customers and employees who are not fully vaccinated continue to wear masks while working or shopping. We will also continue our other safety measures, including but not limited to social distancing and enhanced sanitation. Thank you for all you have done to help us keep each other safe, as we have strived to provide a safe environment in our stores while continuing to deliver on the needs of our customers and charity partners.

**People are considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Employees and customers who are not fully vaccinated must wear a mask at all times in our stores.

The following exceptions shall be granted:

  1. Children two years of age and under, as face coverings or masks may pose a risk of choking, strangulation, or suffocation to infants and young toddlers.
  2. When wearing a face-covering poses a greater mental or physical health, safety or security risk such as anyone who has trouble breathing, or is unconscious, incapacitated, or otherwise unable to remove the cover without assistance.
  3. If you have been fully vaccinated.

Sanitization All high-touch surfaces are sanitized throughout the day, and customers can find hand sanitizer readily available for use near the front of our stores.

Special Hours Monday mornings from 8:00 am to 10:00 AM are reserved for senior shoppers only to limit exposure for those who are more at-risk.

Social Distancing Signs can be found throughout our stores, serving as a reminder to stand 6 feet apart from others at all times. Please help us keep each other safe by following this guideline.

Product Handling Donations made to America’s Thrift Stores are left untouched and kept in quarantine for 24 hours.

Employee Training All America’s Thrift Stores team members have received safety training on how to best implement the guidelines mentioned above. They are fully equipped to create and maintain an environment focused on keeping you in good health. We welcome you to ask a team member questions about sanitization practices, store hours, or our product handling process.

Together, we can shop smart and safe. We look forward to seeing you in our stores again!
